Space + Place Activities for Youth in Cairns (SPAYC) increases the availability and choice of structured diversionary activity for young people aged 8–12+ through a range of initiatives to activate spaces and places in hard to reach areas of Cairns
Strengthening community through sport in a grassroots program linking young people aged 8 to 25 who show an interest or talent in playing a sport, who would not otherwise be able to participate, into sporting clubs
Cultivating young community leaders and mentors aged 15 to 25 who show an interest or passion in taking on a leadership role within the SPAYC+PLACE program through personal and professional development streams
A extension of the SPAYC project to 13 to 25-year-olds who are disengaged or at-risk of disengagement from education or employment by diverting them positive prosocial activities and linking them to appropriate supports
A project creating consistent and significant relationships for young people with community elders, focussing on cultural identity and developing resilience through a Developmental Relationships Framework
A physical activity intervention approach for identified or referred vulnerable and at-risk families, specifically targeted to family units and/or adults. This program will focusses on mental health and nutritional education components, as well as positive parenting outcomes and behaviour management for families
